CLIMATE CHANGE
The climate change conference 2015
in Paris, France, has seen the conclusion of a huge deal which involves the
collaboration between the developing and developed nations of the world. A
milestone has been achieved from the almost two decade journey, from 1997 till
date, which has shown that world leaders, and every one in particular have
become increasingly aware of the gruesome effects of green gas emissions, that
has resulted in the recent climate change landscape.
The largest emitters of green gas
emissions which are the U.S.A, China, India, Japan and all other developing
countries, accepted the deal on Sunday, 13th December, without
objections. The deal strives to hold temperatures to between1.5 -2 degrees Celsius,
to help define the energy landscape for the rest of the century, and ultimately
reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Most countries submitted their pledges on
plans to reduce carbon emissions in the coming years.
Under the new pact all countries
will commit to reducing global warming, and a hundred billion dollars have been
pledged by developed nations to help the developing countries meet this
challenge by 2020 and beyond.
And so what is climate change?
